ISO 9001:2000 Accreditation
CPI have now gained full accreditation to the ISO9001:2000 standard. Working together with Alistair Manning of ADM solutions, CPI set a tough target of obtaining their accreditation as soon as possible within 2007. Having made this decision in April 2007 CPI have managed to install a robust and stringent Quality management system which will provide added value to the companies services and performance within an impressive 4 month period.
BSI themselves carried out the 2 day final assessment and did not come up with a single comment or minor non-conformance. Alistair Manning from ADM Solutions said “This was the first time in almost 20 year’s of consulting for BSI that he had worked with a company that had gone through the approvals so smoothly and without a single comment”.
CPI are a forward thinking company that will always strive to meet the targets and objectives it set itself. CPI are now looking into future accreditation possibilities i.e. ISO14001

SAKI BF-Voyager AOI (Automated optical inspection)
CPI have now taken delivery of the very first SAKI BF-Voyager AOI machine in the UK. The SAKI has been supplied by Europlacer. The SAKI machine was evaluated with several other machine and was judged to give the best overall performance and ease of set up.
The SAKI machine is seen as a major process improvement tool which will aid the consistency of high quality assembly. The machine can inspect up to 500 X 460mm PCB within a 19 second cycle time, giving full inspection to solder joints, component presence and placement accuracy, component legends, colour and orientations.
CPI have also had installed the SAKI off line repair station, which allows all PCB’s scanned to be barcoded. Any failed AOI PCB’s are segregated and scanned in at the repair station, giving a detailed report on failure reasons. Data can then be entered as to faults found which can then be fed back into process. What this system also gives CPI is full build traceability. CPI can scan the PCB in and tell who, when, what issues were found on each PCB instantly. This system eliminates the need for marker arrows/ stickers which can some times fall off (meaning genuine faults are missed) or even being left on the PCB when shipped to the customer!
